  1. Why New Alarms?

New Alarms is the leading ADT authorized dealer.

ADT has six state-of-the-art monitoring centers across the country.  Professionally trained agents monitor your system from one of the four centers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Each center is equipped with the latest and most advanced computer security equipment, allowing us to always be there when you need us.

  2. How does the ADT home security system work?

As soon as it is installed in your home and activated, your ADT monitored security system is connected to the network of monitoring centers. You’re protected 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All of the monitoring centers are staffed with professionally trained agents who are experts in using state-of-the-art security equipment. When the alarm is triggered, an ADT agent will immediately contact you, law enforcement, the fire department or other emergency agencies in your town.

  3. What requirements are there prior to having the system installed?
    • You must be the owner of the property in order for an ADT Monitored Home Security System to be installed in your home.  If you rent your home, please see the instructions and requirements here.
    • You must have electric service at the time of installation.
    • You must have landline telephone service at the time of installation.
  4. What is the installation procedure?

A professionally trained technician will install your ADT Monitored Home Monitoring Security System. You must be home at the time of installation. Because the system is wireless, there’s no need for wires or cables through your ceilings, walls or floors.

  5. What does the ADT home security system monitor?

The ADT Monitored Home Security System monitors your home 24 hours a day, seven days a week for home invasions, fire and smoke. In the event of a medical emergency, you can reach a professional ADT agent by simply pushing a button on the keypad or the remote. You can also choose among several other monitoring systems such as carbon monoxide poisoning.

  6. What guarantees are available?

ADT provides a Theft Protection Certificate. If property loss occurs during a burglary while your ADT Home Monitoring Security System is active, you will be reimbursed for up to $500 of your homeowner’s insurance deductible.

  7. How do I prevent a false alarm?

Follow these four simple steps to avoid triggering a false alarm and possible fee forced by your local police department.

    • Inform all family members that an ADT Home Monitoring Security System has been installed and make sure they understand how the system works.
    • Ensure all entry points are locked prior to activating the ADT Monitored alarm system.
    • Test the system at least once per month to make sure it is in proper working order.  Contact ADT immediately if you suspect any problems with your system.
    • Make sure each member of your family knows the password.  Do not share your password with any unauthorized person.
